After I retired, I thought I would be spending hours in my studio. That has not been the case at all. I probably haven't spent any more time there than I ever did. I started wondering why this was and realized that it was because I never fully COMMITTED to a creative life. I never made it a priority. It made me think about what commitment means. It involves disciplining oneself - something I've never been good at. It involves setting goals and following through on them.
So I am committed to doing the following;
1) Spend a minimum of 10 minutes every day on an art project
2) Learn new techniques through local classes, online videos and GAYL!
3) Keep a running list of what I have made
4) Blog about it to keep myself accountable. Gayl, I'm counting on you to get on my butt if I start to slack.
