Beaded Desires

Today Gayl and I went to the Cowboy Craft Fair at Gilbert Rodeo Park. The craft fair is held the first Saturday of every month. It's new - this is only the second month. There were not many vendors, but we were immediately taken with Beaded Desires. A woman and her two teen age daughters bead necklaces, bracelets and earrings and they sell them at affordable prices. I purchased this gorgeous bracelet for only $7! I love how it sparkles in the light.

Both of her daughters are very poised young women. They pointed out the best traits of the different jewelery, explaining the different types of beading and whether or not there were any swarovski crystals used in the piece. They expressed genuine delight whenever someone bought a piece they had made. Just before we moved on, I told their mother what special young ladies her daughters were. She pulled me aside and told me that when they were little, 3 yrs and 18 mos, their mother left them with her to baby sit them - AND NEVER RETURNED! The girls became their foster children. They eventually found the birth parents, but they said they had no interest in raising their children, so Felicia and her husband legally adopted the girls about 10 years ago. How fortunate for these girls that they were able to be raised in a loving home after being abandoned by their parents. The Lord works in mysterious ways....

  1. Wow, that is quite a story! Sounds like all were very blessed on that day that their mother placed them together and walked away. They make beautiful jewelry too... love the bracelet you bought.

  2. I can't imagine abandoning a child. These girls are very fortunate indeed. I'll bet you they don't even remember their biological parents and love and appreciate the ones they have. Speaking of love, I love your bracelet and the name of their company.
