Catching Up

There are few things so irritating as a blog about nothing. Maybe Seinfeld can write about nothing, but I can't! While we are having a wonderful time visiting with family, we haven't done anything exciting enough to write about and I don't want to bore anyone. Also, my camera isn't working and I have found that photos make a blog so much better. It's harder to write about my day when I don't have photos to share. Like the other night when we were driving home just after dark and saw 3 lovely does, yearlings, at the side of the road turning to look at us over thier shoulders. What I wouldn't have given for a picture of those beautiful creatures! Or the flock of turkeys next to the 5th wheel, the Jake standing right in front of the kitchen window, his beard almost touching the ground. Those are things I would love to share with everyone, along with a photo.

We had a great time with Wayne & Carol. Bufford family, Wayne looks great. He is still weak from his many surgeries, but his color is good and he feels better than he has felt in years. Aunt Helen & Howard - 93 and 90 respectively, are also doing well. They both use walkers around their home, which is interesting to say the least (think traffic intersections!) but they manage very well. Howard couldn't put in his garden this year because he fell and cracked his pelvis (that's why he has a walker), but his pastor came by and planted it for him, so they still have their harvest. Mom enjoyed her visit with Aunt Helen so much. It was difficult to watch them tell each other good by ,because they knew it might be the last time they saw each other.

Now we are back in Monroe at John & Stephanie's. Today we took Mom to Clinton so she could spend time with her side of the family. Mike and John are fishing on Lake Erie as I write. We're hoping they bring home some fish for a fish fry tonite. Tomorrow Pattie & Jerry will be back from their stay on Mackinac Island and we are getting together with George and Alyce tomorrow evening.

We head back home on Monday and I will be glad to be home and back into my routine again. It's been a wonderful trip, despite the heat and humidity, but it's always good to get home.

  1. Sometimes the sweetest part of going on a trip is the feeling of your own bed as you slip into it the first night back home.

You should stop by a Best Buy and get a new camera. Trips are to precious to not come back with memories to go through years from now.

    Enjoy!
