The Skipbo Queens

When Mom & Aunt Helen get together they always play Skipbo. They are both sharp card players and it's hysterical to be around them when they play because they trash talk each other so much. The first time I witnessed this phenomenon I was a bit taken aback because they really sounded like they were fighting, but they told me they always did that - it was part of the fun. So now I just sit back and enjoy. I made them pose for the photos - they weren't really snarling at each other.

Wayne and Carol made Carne Asada for dinner last night. It's labor intensive because you have to cut the meat into thin strips, marinate it overnight, then cook it slowly on the grille, but it's a big family favorite and I can see why - DELICIOUSO! I fixed the grape salad Stephanie made (grapes tossed in a cream cheese/sour cream mixture along with pralinepecans), and Wayne fixed home made guacamole - quite a feast!

Wayne & Carol's son in law, Dave, took Mickey fishing yesterday afternoon. Dave is the ultimate outdoorsman and knows all the sweet spots. Mickey caught bluegill, perch, pike, a small bass and 50 pounds of weeds.

We pull up stakes tomorrow and head south again. We are dropping Mom off at Clinton so she can spend time with another sister-in-law before she flies home. We will spend a few days at John & Stephanie's and head West Friday. I'm starting to get a little bit homesick.........
